Cuisine American
- 2 pounds grass-fed ground beef
- 1.5 pounds bone-in ribeye cut into 2-inch chunks
- 1 large onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 32 ounces organic beef bone broth
- Water as needed
Stovetop (Dutch Oven) Method
Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add ribeye chunks and sear until browned on all sides (5–7 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
Add ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned (5–7 minutes), breaking it apart. Remove and set aside with the ribeye.
In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic until softened (3–4 minutes).
Return all meat to the pot. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, and bone broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 2–3 hours until meat is tender.
Crockpot Method
If your crockpot has a sauté function, brown ribeye and ground beef directly in it. Otherwise, use a skillet, then transfer to the crockpot.
Add onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper to the crockpot. Stir to coat the meat.
Pour in bone broth (add water if needed to cover ingredients).
Cover and cook on Low for 8–10 hours or High for 5–6 hours, until meat is fall-apart tender.
