Pumpkin Pie Pretzel Bites

These Pumpkin Pie Pretzel Bites are mini pretzels dipped in orange candy melts mixed with a little pumpkin pie spice, then drizzled with white chocolate once they’re set.

They’re salty, sweet, and spiced all at once, and they come together in about 15 minutes flat.

I make these for fall get-togethers and Thanksgiving snack trays when I want something festive that doesn’t need the oven.

They’re also easy to package up for teacher gifts or classroom parties since they hold up well at room temperature.

Serve them at fall parties, Halloween gatherings, Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, school events, or holiday snack tables. Their small size makes them perfect for finger food trays, treat bags, or dessert boards.

If you’re into easy no-bake snacks for a fall party tray, these are worth bookmarking too:

Ingredients You’ll Need

Orange candy melts give these their pumpkin-colored shell without needing food coloring. Mini pretzels work best over pretzel rods here, they’re easier to fully coat and eat in one or two bites.

Ingredients

  • 40 mini pretzels

  • 1 1/2 cups orange candy melts

  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

  • 1/2 cup white chocolate, for drizzling

Directions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside within easy reach.
Have the pretzels ready in a bowl next to your workspace so you’re not scrambling once the candy melts are ready.
  • Melt the orange candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.
Stir in the pumpkin pie spice once the candy melts are fully melted, mixing until the spice is evenly distributed with no clumps.
  • Dip each mini pretzel into the melted orange mixture, using a fork to turn it and coat it fully.
Tap off any excess before setting it down, a thick pooled edge takes longer to set and looks messier once firm.
  • Place each dipped pretzel onto the parchment paper.
Work through the full batch of pretzels before moving on to the drizzle, this way the coating gets a small head start on setting.
  • Melt the white chocolate in a separate microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.
Transfer it to a piping bag or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off.
  • Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the dipped pretzels in thin lines back and forth.
Leave them on the parchment paper until completely firm, this usually takes about 20 minutes at room temperature, or half that time in the fridge.

Important Recipe Notes

  • Melt in short bursts. Candy melts can seize up if they get too hot too fast, 30-second bursts with a stir in between keeps the texture smooth and workable.
  • Let the coating set fully before stacking. It’s not the quickest step to wait through, but pretzels that go into a tin before the chocolate firms up will stick together in a clump.
  • Stir the spice in well. A few clumps of pumpkin pie spice can end up as a bitter bite if it’s not fully mixed into the melted candy.
  • Storage. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, with parchment between layers so they don’t stick.
  • Avoid the fridge for storage. Condensation on the candy coating once it comes back to room temperature makes it look dull and slightly sticky, room temperature storage holds up better.
  • Swap the drizzle. Dark chocolate works in place of white chocolate if you want more contrast against the orange coating.

How to Serve, Store & Customize This Recipe

Serving:

Pile these into a bowl for a snack table, or tuck a few into small bags for a festive classroom treat. They’re best at room temperature, no plating needed.

Storage:

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, layering parchment between rows so the pretzels don’t stick to each other.

Customization:

Swap the white chocolate drizzle for dark or milk chocolate if you want more contrast, or add a sprinkle of turbinado sugar on top before the coating sets for a little extra crunch.
